Christophe Pitois

2012 Le Mesnil Sur Oger Grand Cru Millésime Blanc de Blanc

Christophe Pitois, Côte des Blancs, Champagne, France

A great vintage, patiently aged, where ripe fruit meets the saline tension of the terroir. The richness of 2012 shows with restraint, in a rare balance of power and finesse.

Tasting Notes

The nose shows a mineral note and toasted notes of roasted hazelnut and almond, followed by zesty ripe citrus. Both rich and taut, this 2012 is expressive and concentrated, with great aromatic intensity. The palate builds and persists, firm and directed, finishing fresh with an elegant bitterness.

Food

Smoked blue lobster; guinea fowl with fennel and orange.
