Amaro della Donna Selvatica
Lidia Levi, sister of Romano, the "angelic grappa maker", knew the rich herbs of the Langhe well. She grew them with care and knew how to join them in harmonious, fragrant combinations, which she skilfully enriched with the bitterness of Savona chinotto and the intense scent of Bergeggi oranges, which a friar friend always made sure she had.
Lidia made "artistic" compositions that her brother's grappa held in its bottles, bringing out the intense scents of the territory.
An old recipe of Lidia's now returns to inspire the Amaro della Donna Selvatica, with the scents of gentian, elder, sage and hops, among others.
These scents come together, bound by the light but present touch of Romano's grappa, which alone embraces this amaro and brings out its skilful, pleasing harmony.

Tasting Notes
Bright amber. The nose shows bitter orange and citrus peel, with gentian, sage and mint over warm spice. The palate is bittersweet and silky, the chinotto bitterness balanced by orange fragrance and herbal depth, with the grappa base adding gentle warmth. The finish is long, smooth and pleasantly bitter.
