2025 Woori Yallock Chardonnay
Located at Woori Yallock in the upper reaches of the Yarra Valley, the Lusatia Park vineyard sits on an excellent north-facing slope at an almost perfect altitude for this part of Victoria. The vineyard was planted in 1985 and is situated on the much desired red basalt soils that contribute to the extraordinary length the wines provide.

Vineyard
Vintage notes
The 2025 vintage was quite a wet vintage with very high levels of rainfall recorded, especially in the early half of the growing season. The spring was cool, but was followed by a heatwave into the summer in Victoria. Yields were up from 2024, and harvest was early and quick, smooth and healthy, with the resulting wines being bright, fresh, and drinkable.
Winemaking
The fruit is hand harvested, whole-cluster crushed into the press, and drained off into tank for settling. Primary fermentation takes place in barrique (30% new) over three weeks followed by complete malolactic fermentation. Lees stirring occurs weekly throughout malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged in barrique for ten months.
Tasting Notes
Generous yet precise, the wine offers ripe orchard fruit balanced by bright acidity. Integrated oak supports the vineyard's natural character. Full of yellow peach, white orchard blossom, hints of brioche, all alongside a thread of spice. An incredible and lengthy finish reveals poise and elegance.
