Single-vineyard Barossa and Eden Valley wines from Andrew and Skye Quin, centred on their Cambourne Vineyard at Greenock Creek
The Quins' Cambourne Vineyard covers 7 ha on the banks of Greenock Creek in the Barossa Valley. Own-rooted 1654 clone Shiraz, planted in the mid 1990s, grows in red clay loam over limestone.
Rows run east to west on a south-facing slope, shading the fruit through summer heat and keeping it bright. Andrew also seeks out small parcels, such as Williamstown Grenache dating partly to 1930 and 1982 Shiraz at 450 m in Eden Valley.
Andrew Quin came to winemaking through horticulture, then worked vintages in Victoria and Sonoma and travelled and worked in the Languedoc.
Andrew and Skye founded Quin Wines in 2018.
