Domaine Guy Allion

2023 Sauvignon Blanc

Domaine Guy Allion, Touraine, Loire, France

A pale yellow colour with soft green tints shows perfect clarity and a bright shine, a sign of well-controlled intensity. The nose has undeniable charm, marked by aromas of green apple, citrus and delicate white flowers, notably blackcurrant bud. As the wine breathes, these same aromas persist, with a subtle vegetal note recalling boxwood. On the palate the wine is remarkably supple, its presence in harmony with well-judged liveliness. Its fine balance and structure give a pleasant body, while the finish brings back citrus and refined vegetal notes.

Tasting Notes

Food

Served at 10 to 12°C, its lively citrus and green apple aromas and its liveliness on the palate make it a perfect partner for seafood such as oysters, mussels and prawns. White fish simply prepared with fresh herbs would also be an excellent choice. Its lightness and fine vegetal character make it a good match for fresh salads and vegetarian dishes, as well as fresh cheeses such as goat's cheese or ricotta. It also goes well with Asian cooking, Mediterranean dishes based on olive oil and herbs, and light poultry dishes.
